# Privacy Policy — Strivo Steps

This Privacy Policy explains how the Strivo Steps app ("Strivo Steps", formerly "FitCoin"
and "StrivoCoin", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the
app you agree to this policy.

## Who we are
Strivo Steps is operated by **[Strivo Steps]**. For any privacy questions, contact us at

## Information we collect
- **Account information:** your name, email address, and (optionally) a username and
  profile photo you choose. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication
  (email/password or Google Sign‑In).
- **Health & fitness data (steps):** your daily step count, read from your device's
  built‑in hardware step sensor using the **Activity Recognition** permission. We do **not**
  use Android Health Connect or any other third‑party health provider. Steps are used only
  to calculate your progress, streaks, and the in‑app coins you can earn.
- **App activity:** coins earned, unlocked, spent and redeemed; transaction history;
  streaks; your daily step goal; scratch‑card and rewarded‑ad activity; badges; and
  giveaway entries.
- **Device identifier:** an Android device identifier (ANDROID_ID) used **to detect and
  prevent referral fraud** — specifically, to stop the same person from creating multiple
  accounts on one device to claim referral rewards. It is not used for advertising or
  tracking you across other apps.
- **Referral data:** your referral code, whether you joined via someone's code, and how
  many people you have referred.
- **Push notification token:** if you enable notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging
  (FCM) token for your device is stored so we can send you notifications.
- **Premium subscription status:** if you subscribe to Strivo Steps Premium, your
  subscription status is stored. Any payments are processed by Google Play; we do not
  receive or store your card/bank details.
- **Reward redemption details:** when you redeem coins, we record the reward and a
  reference code, and use your registered email to deliver the reward (e.g. a Google Play
  code).

We do **not** sell your personal data, and we do **not** share your health/fitness data
with third parties for advertising.

## How we use your information
- To provide the core service: tracking steps, awarding/unlocking coins, streaks, badges,
  scratch cards and giveaways.
- To maintain your account and sync your data across sessions and devices.
- To operate redemption of coins for rewards and deliver those rewards.
- To run the referral program and, using the device identifier, to **prevent fraud and
  abuse** (e.g. multi‑account farming on a single device).
- To send you notifications you've opted into (coin, reward, challenge and reminder
  notifications).
- To show **rewarded advertisements** that let you unlock coins (see "Advertising").
- To provide Premium features if you subscribe.

## Step data
Strivo Steps reads your step count **only from your device's built‑in hardware step
sensor**, using the **Activity Recognition** permission. Step data is used solely to power
in‑app features (progress, streaks, coins) and is stored in your account record to keep
your balances consistent. It is **never sold or shared for advertising**. You can revoke
Activity Recognition access at any time from your device settings.

## Advertising
Strivo Steps shows **rewarded ads** through **Google AdMob** (Google Mobile Ads). To serve
ads, Google may collect and use device and advertising identifiers and related data as
described in Google's policies. You can control ad personalization and reset your
advertising ID in your device settings.

## Notifications
If you grant notification permission, we store an FCM device token to deliver in‑app and
push notifications (e.g. rewards, challenges, reminders). You can turn notifications off at
any time in your device's app settings.

## Third‑party services
We use the following Google services to operate the app; their handling of data is governed
by Google's Privacy Policy (<https://policies.google.com/privacy>):
- **Firebase** — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and
  Cloud Messaging (push notifications).
- **Google Sign‑In.**
- **Google AdMob** (advertising).

## Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your
account, we delete your associated data as described below.

## Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data **from inside the app**:
open **Profile → Delete Account** and confirm. This removes your account record (profile,
coins, transactions, streaks, referral and device records) and your profile photo.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you need help, email
**[email protected]** and we will action your request.

## Age requirement
Strivo Steps is intended for users aged **18 and over**. We do not knowingly collect data
from anyone under 18.

## Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an
updated "Last updated" date above.
